What inspired you to become a speechie?
I have always enjoyed working with children, and believe that communication is so important for our quality of life. I’m so lucky I get to bring these two things together working as a speech pathologist.
Who do you like to work with?
Children with a range of communication difficulties including speech, language, fluency (stuttering), literacy, social skills, as well as children who use AAC (alternative/augmentative communication). Children with Developmental Delay, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down’s Syndrome and Intellectual Delay.
Playing sport certainly keeps me busy on the weekends. I also love reading (when I can find the time)!
Favourite speech games:
I like to try new things with my clients all the time, to keep things interesting – but bubbles and Pop the Pig are definitely old favourites!
